Super Absorbant Quick Dry Towel
I recently made a trip to Beach Road to buy a pair of gloves for my up coming hiking trip. The moment I arrived, I felt like a kid in a candy store and wanted to buy almost everything. However, one of the things I regretted purchasing was the S$15 super absorbant towel.
When I saw the towel, I was amazed at how small it could be folded despite being 40 x 90cm. Moreover, it was touted to be super absorbant and quick dry. The size and its properties were all that I needed for a lightweight backpacking trip. A towel that could dry overnight after your shower and ready to be packed into your backpack the next morning was my answer to hanging the wet towel on the outside of my backpack the next day subjecting the towel to getting entangled with branches or bus windows.
The towel was packed in a plastic cover and the shop owner did not allow me to open to feel the material before buying. Thinking of all the benefits mentioned above, I decided to buy without second thought.
When I got home, I found that the towel was similar to the towels you buy to dry your car!!! The car towels costs $3.50-$5.00 while the towel I bought costs $15!!! What a rip off!. Well, I guess I paid a premium for the nice little pouch it came in.
The next time you decide to buy a super absorbant towel, remember to buy one that is made of 70% polyester and 30% polyamide from any car accessory store and you'll have yourself a super absorbant towel at a fraction of the cost.
